With the collaboration of University Microfilms International, a division of ProQuest Company, the Association offers the CAGS/UMI Distinguished Dissertation Awards. The awards recognize doctoral students whose dissertations make an original contribution to their academic field. Two awards are offered each year: one in engineering, medical sciences and natural sciences; and one in fine arts, humanities and social sciences.

2011 CAGS/UMI DISTINGUISHED DISSERTATION AWARDS

The winner of the Award in the category of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is Dr. David Cecchetto. Dr. Cecchetto holds a PhD in English from the University of Victoria.

The winner of the Award in the category of Engineering, Medical Sciences and Natural Sciences is Dr. Nicholas Carleton. Dr. Carleton holds a PhD from the Department of Psychology at the University of Regina.

The Awards were given at the Annual Conference on Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver.
